Could my boyfriend do jail? and how long?

my boyfriend is 18. hes been on probation for hitting a cop and somethin else and stopped going to his required drug testing months ago. i only have mi permit driving but mi mom gave me her old car for mi birthday (just turned 18). mi mom told me everything was good with the car but i cant drive it till june 30 when i get my liscence, my boyfriend drove me to my school because i had to get something and we got pulled over and found out the insurance was expired and inspection on the car. he got 2tickets. one for driving without a liscence and one for the car having expired inspection in 2010. can i get in trouble? and wll he go to jail? also my mom said that the car has insurance on it...im not sure if its true or not but the car isnt being used so the insurance that was in the glove compartment was expired. how can i find out if the car does? mi mom doesnt kno about any of this.
