Why is there so much dislike and unnecessary criticism on Miguel Cotto?

Cotto seems like a nice guy. However, while he can beat most fighters he comes up below expectations. He's a top fighter but not the best of the best. I guess he could be at the bottom of the scale on the top 10 but it's just a matter of time before he gets beat again unless they throw a bunch of bums at him.
