Why did my Atheists teacher pray?

My history teacher whose an Atheists always talks about how he doesn't believe in God and how God is fake and etc. I'd have to say he is a cool and funny guy but that's the part where we clash the most when it comes to talking about God existence. Anyways, there was this one day he told the class how he was going to play the lottery and he said if he wins the Jackpot he'd be happy. I happened to see him in the grocery store and he start doing the holy father, the holy son and the holy spirit thing that catholic do and kissed his hands. So I want to know why you atheists be lying?
